St. Xavier’s feast is celebrated every year on 3rd of December.St. Francis Xavier was a Catholic missionary during the Portuguese era. The feast is performed to honour his death. Believers from all over the world come over on large scale.

St. Francis Xavier’s Feast Goa[/caption]Every ten years the casket is brought down and taken into a procession around Old Goa. Church services begin as early as 4 am and people come together in huge numbers to revere this beloved saint.
The pilgrimage turns out to be a picnic for many families that come across the borders. A wide array of food and drinks are available for the people to enjoy.
